under $70...? you might have better luck looking for a used one, you might get lucky and find one with a lot of features. i know there are brand new headunits, around $100 that have quite a few features. usually kenwood has a econo radio, i think i got the old mp238, is sat/hd ready, plays mp3 and has aux port, dual preouts from when i had a nice audio setup with dual amps. so not sure what else youre looking for, but there are quite a few choices for around $100 for a brand new headunit.

Grab one of those Kenwood, Pioneer, or JVC heads that Ian linked on crutchfield. I've always been a fan of Kenwood and JVC headunits.

This JVC looks pretty cool, imo. But it has the whole clunky box; the one I have only has the detachable display. Is it still possible to still find detachable stereos like the one I originally posted? I really don't want to rip out the audio off my car and I'm not sure who I can contact to install the JVC if I do get it.

That JVC has a detachable display. Almost all single din head units have a detachable display. That "clunky box" IS the headunit. If you pull out that old pioneer you have it looks exactly the same.

In my opinion, go to a local audio shop. Tell them you want a new headunit. Pick out the cheapest one they have and have them install it.
