2010 SE-R Noise Help...

I have recently noticed a sound when you first start up the car and start to get moving it is almost like a flat tire sound or something flapping around on the right side of the car. It is almost like something is rubbing something. I know being a 2010 with only a 1000 miles on it, I dont think it should have a sound though any input would help me calm down before i take it back and let the dealership have it considering i havent made the first payment lol

Re: 2010 SE-R Noise Help...

I have a 2010 SE-R

and i havent noticed any sounds yet.

Mind you i only have 800km (500miles) so far

I would take it in, but in the past noises are never really resolved with the dealer unless it is something that is actually wrong

Re: 2010 SE-R Noise Help...

Check your inner fender just inside the right front tire (where the oil filtermis located). It is held in place with plastic attachment pieces, and can come loose. Thats all I can think of.

On a side note. My car ran great for 2,500 miles, but has been nothing but trouble lately. I has the loss of power issue as listed on the other post. Navigation system is no longer tracking my car (shows it 30 miles from my current location). Air bag light is continuously flashing. Dealer was unable to repair loss of power, and air bag light. GPS has been malfunctioning since I got it back from the dealer. I am seriously thinking of getting out of the Nissan ownership business!

Re: 2010 SE-R Noise Help...

What you describe almost sounds like a flat spot on the tire, or possibly something to do with the brake pads on that corner. Does it go away after the tires/brakes warm up?

Re: 2010 SE-R Noise Help...

The noise only happens when you get in and start to drive as soon as u start moving and the doors auto lock you hear the noise and its only while the car is cold....and only happens when you first start up and drive hot or cold...

Re: 2010 SE-R Noise Help...

Do you live in an area where you have been getting a lot of rain, or driving through water? Could you have a light dusting of rust on the brake rotors. They will rust in just a few hours if the conditions are right. I noticed this on several occasions, but after I hit the brakes for the first time there was no further noise during that trip.
