Warranty, warranty, warranty! Make sure you have one.

I purchased a 2013 Sentra S in 2017 from a dealer with about 40k miles on it. I'm glad I took the extended warranty because at 60k the CVT died. Took a while, but I filed the warranty replacement claim and they took care of it.

This was my first CVT and it felt weird from day one. Sometimes I would feel a "slip" when accelerating from low speeds. I thought it was normal and that I just needed to get use to it. Turns out those were the signs of a failing CVT and 20k later it finally gave up.

Do a little more research and thoroughly test drive the car.
